Devin Burrell, MA

LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Devin Burrell, Amarillo, TX, Child Therapist, Teen Therapist, Adult Therapist

Helping people grow has always been at the heart of what I do.

Whether I'm working with a child who's struggling to express big emotions, a teenager trying to figure out who they are, or an adult navigating anxiety or life's transitions, my goal is always the same.

To create a space where you feel safe, understood, and never alone in what you're going through.

I believe therapy is an investment in yourself, your relationships, and your future. Sometimes life throws challenges at us that we weren't prepared for, and you shouldn't have to navigate them by yourself.

My path to becoming a therapist

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in education as a teacher.

Those experiences gave me a front-row seat to the challenges children, teens, and young adults face every day. I worked with students learning to manage anxiety, navigate friendships, build confidence, adjust to major life changes, and understand emotions that often felt too big for words.

As my career grew, so did my passion for helping people beyond the classroom.

Today, I work with children, teens, and adults facing many of those same challenges, along with anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, trauma, and life transitions.

What therapy with me is like

My hope is that therapy feels like one place where you don't have to pretend everything is okay.

We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
We'll celebrate progress together, even when it feels small.
We'll work through challenges with curiosity instead of judgment.
Most importantly, we'll build a relationship where you feel safe enough to be honest, ask hard questions, and grow into the person you want to become.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We'll figure it out together.

Who I work best with

I work with:

  • Children learning to understand and manage big emotions

  • Teens navigating friendships, identity, school, and family changes

  • College students and young adults adjusting to new seasons of life

  • Adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or life transitions

  • Individuals working through trauma using EMDR therapy

Whether you're looking for support for yourself or your child, my goal is to create a space where healing feels possible and hope feels within reach.

A little about me

Outside of the office, you'll usually find me with my husband, our two kids, and our two pitbulls, who are every bit as spoiled as the children.

Our family spends many weekends at the racetrack participating in drag racing, something we genuinely love doing together. It's given us the opportunity to travel, make memories, and teach our kids the value of working hard while making time to enjoy life.

When we're not racing, I also enjoy reading, traveling, and staying active.
